Apparent Threat Prompts Increased Police Presence At Loudoun County Elementary School

An apparent threat prompted an increased police presence at an elementary school in Loudoun County, authorities said.

The rumored threat was posted online and directed at the Cool Spring Elementary School on Tavistock Drive SE in Leesburg, police said on Monday, Nov. 7.

Police were working with the school district to find the source, but ultimately determined that the threat was not credible.

Out of an abundance of caution, police say they will have extra patrols at the school during school hours this week.

Anyone aware of suspicious activity is asked to report it to the Leesburg Police Department at its non-emergency dispatch line at 703-771-4500 or at 9-1-1 for emergencies.
